Hogwarts Legacy features several intriguing treasure maps that guide players across the Highlands in search of hidden gear and rewards. Among these side quests, The Hippogriff Marks The Spot offers a classic puzzle-solving adventure that tests your spell mastery. Tracking down the parchment and following its cryptic clues leads to valuable loot hidden within a dangerous hideaway.
Finding Henrietta's Map in Poidsear Castle
To begin this quest, you must locate the treasure map resting inside Poidsear Castle. The map is placed on a table inside a bandit tent within the fortress ruins. You can clear out the nearby enemies or use stealth to retrieve the scroll safely.
Once picked up, the map displays a drawing of a Hippogriff statue along with specific spell symbols. These visual hints indicate both the destination and the exact spell actions required to claim the treasure.
Journeying to Henrietta's Hideaway
The location marked on the map directs players to Henrietta's Hideaway at the southern tip of Manor Cape. Upon arriving at the coastal ruins, you will encounter hostile Ashwinder forces guarding the perimeter. You can engage them in combat or sneak past them to reach the dungeon entrance beneath the staircase.
Stepping inside leads directly into the initial entry chamber where the first obstacle blocks further progress. Solving the entry mechanics requires clever application of elemental magic.
Solving the Entrance Spell Cube Puzzle
The first room contains two metal pedestals and two spell cubes marked with elemental symbols. One cube is already present, while the second cube is hidden inside a revolving statue wall. Lighting the nearby brazier with a fire spell causes the statue to rotate and expose the missing block.
Use Wingardium Leviosa or Accio to position both cubes onto their corresponding floor pedestals. Casting Incendio on the fire cube and Glacius on the ice cube activates the mechanism and opens the heavy doors leading deeper inside.
Lighting the Hippogriff Statue Braziers
In the main hall, you will face a large Hippogriff statue surrounded by eight braziers. To solve the puzzle, you must make the surrounding flames match the pattern depicted on Henrietta's map. Use Glacius to extinguish incorrect fires and Incendio or Confringo to light the required ones.
The correct arrangement requires only four specific braziers around the statue to remain lit. Once the pattern is successfully matched, a secret doorway in the back wall slides open to reveal a hidden treasure chest containing the Treasure-Seeker's Gloves.
